It was circa 2015. I was on the internet looking for ways to change my Seiko Sea Urchin SNZF17 hands to make it look more like a Submariner. You know what kind of hands i'm talking about ;) That's when i discovered the watch modding community on Reddit and it's safe to say that from that moment on, i fell deep into the rabbit hole and my life was never the same.

Hello everyone! Im Alfie, founder of MOD DE RIRE aka MDR. I’m a watch modification specialist aka modder, hailing from Singapore. There are only 2 things that i love the most; my wife and watches. That's right. WIFE over anything else, folks. She's been my number 1 supporter from day 1 and together we run MDR (although she mostly helps with the printing of shipping labels).

Jokes aside, i've been building and modifying mostly Seiko Automatic watches for 9 years now but I've only turned it into a business since 2020. Thank you, Covid-19. At MDR, we truly care about quality over quantity and that's why you should consider getting a timepiece from us. Or two. Well, the more the merrier. We don't just sell watches. We sell art.
